About Us

Meeker Volunteer Fire & Rescue proudly protects the citizens of Rio Blanco Fire Protection District. We have proximity 2,700 people living in an area of 1,940 square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily rural area. The Department has full time Fire Chief / EMS Director and one office Administrator, all department members are volunteers. We have an ISO rating of 5.

The Meeker Vol. Fire Department is under authority of the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District. We were established in 1933 and became “Meeker Vol. Fire and Rescue” in March of 1997 with the merger of the Meeker Vol. Fire Department and the Meeker Ambulance Service. We now serve the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District as Meeker Fire Rescue.
